I tend to multi-task a lot...
LOL! That is what I call multitasking to the max. At work, there are two people that run a special project on one computer while working on the other. Since the projects they do take hours of system time, they can be using another computer to do work while the other one is running. Therefore, they can be running two special projects at one time. Instead of getting 5,000 claims through the system, they can now get 10,000 claims through in one day. But, that is only used for instances where there are a huge amount of claims that have to be corrected in the system at one time, which rarely happens. But, it is there if they need it.
I feel like I am a sound man at one of those huge concerts with two monitors on my desk LOL! Those guys now, most of the time, have two monitors, one for each channel of speakers, left and right, they can monitor the condition of each speaker in the array with that setup, and if something is wrong, they can shut one of the modules down, while the others are working.
I use my second computer for double-searches, uploading photos to WinkFlash to print, and for listening to Pandora.
I'm hoping around Christmas the BIG monitor will be replaced with a sleek new one. The one on the left has already been replaced with a flatscreen.
Pandora radio is very cool to listen to. You select the favourite artist or type of music and it plays that artist and any other artists like the one you pick.
LCD monitors have came down in price quite a bit. I got mine at amazon.com for about $100.00 less that I seen it in most stores for. So, check amazon.com first for bargains. They had some sweet deals on Samsung TOC monitors. When I got mine, I seen they offered a 26" TOC model T260 for only $409.00!! And they had a $30.00 rebate on the unit at the time, taking it to $379.00 after rebate. The TOC series is the flagship of Samsung's monitors, and the 26" size cost about $500.00 in stores at the time to buy. I have the 22" model that I got for $224.00 after rebate, about $150.00 less than it was at Best Buy at the time.
Never pay full price for anything you can get cheaper
Fortuanately, my husband upgrades to a new computer every three years or less, and I get his old one. So I'll get his monitor in the deal as well. Then we play the great computer shuffle. I might end up with three on my desk!
Yeah, I discovered some amaxing European prog rock thanks to Pandora!
Three monitors, OMG! Your desk will soon look like the control center at NORAD before you know it LOL!
