Contest!

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 15, 2008, 4:32 AM
DA GLITCH!!!

:iconwolfeman99:'s gallery & stats were missing for a week - they are finally back, but the last image he posted is missing from his gallery. DA states they are aware of the problem, but it's very frustrating that he lost a week's worth of image views (because no one could find his gallery) and now he may have to re-post this image if they cannot locate it:
You can see it here, but not in his gallery!!

SCAVENGER & RESEARCH CONTEST!!!

:pc: I need assistance, so I have decided to make this a contest for my Watchers.

Here is what I am seeking and the rules:

With the new versions of my series, The Circle of Friends, coming out next year and concluding in 2010, I need to begin targeting websites of interest and start building buzz. I already have a large list of websites and blogs, but need as many as possible to market effectively. I need:

:bulletblue:Websites targeting teens and young adults.
:bulletblue:Websites/Blogs that review YA fiction.
:bulletblue:Websites catering to conservative parents.

:bulletblue:These sites must be able to either review books; feature author interviews; offer free downloads or links to items that interest the site’s readers; etc. Also must be sites that actually receive a good batch of visitors every month. Can be sites with forums, but I must be able to participate (no sites with teen-participation only.)
:bulletblue:Sites that focus on positive, inspirational or uplifting are a bonus!

:bulletblue:Basically, sites that are visited by teens who would enjoy reading an inspirational series or visited by adults who would be delighted by the non-salacious slant of my books.

Dancing Lemur Press L.L.C. – www.dancinglemurpress.com

Yes, I already have a MySpace and a FaceBook, and I also have sites such as TeensReadToo and YABooksCenteral marked and/or are on them.

:star: Prizes :star:

A three-month subscription to whoever finds the most viable sites!
A feature here in the journal for that person and anyone who finds ten or more sites!

Send a NOTE titled contest with a link to each site you have discovered.

Contest runs from now until September 28th.

I will keep a running tab here in the journal and post icon and # of sites found for each entrant. You can continue to send sites after the initial Note and they will be added to the tally!

:jedi: Thanks and happy hunting! :jedi:

Diane Wolfe is a gifted writer who leaves her appreciative readers looking eagerly toward her next novel…  “Mike" is a superbly crafted story of young adult angst, as well as a thoroughly entertaining read. Also very highly recommended are the three early volumes in this outstanding series: "Lori"; "Sarah"; and "James".  - Midwest Book Reviews

there are lots of sites out there but really you want to be promoting as much as you can on facebook and myspace - they reach so many people, including the teenagers who won't go to sites focused on being wholesome.

If you're organising events (book signings and etc.) pownce.com is worth a look. There's Xanga of course ... and the only other thing I can think of is flip ... but unless you plan to make advertising/inspirational scrapbooks/flipbooks online that's no good.

Will let you know if anything else jumps out.

Already have webpage on both MySpace and FaceBook.
And I do have a list of over 150 sites, many of whom I've already touched base with and/or done features, interviews, etc.

But I will add that one to the list! (Already on BookTour.com, too.)

Just trying to add more - I have six months left before the first release and lots to do!

yeah, I did see that you had facebook and myspace, they're just the one's that I know all my friends and all our little brothers and sisters are members of - so the best one's to reach a lot of people, especially the teenagers.

Good luck getting everything done!
